Shaunti Yanik Larios: Massage Therapist & Reiki III Practitioner at Colorado Natural Medicine & Acupuncture

Healing happens in many forms, and sometimes, it starts with a single touch. At Colorado Natural Medicine & Acupuncture, we’re excited to welcome Shaunti Yanik Larios, Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki III Practitioner, to our integrative care team in Castle Rock. Blending therapeutic massage with intuitive energy work, Shaunti helps patients release tension, restore balance, and reconnect by blending intuitive touch, energy work, and traditional massage techniques.

From Self-Care to Serving Others: The Path to Massage Therapy

For Shaunti, massage therapy has long been part of her own self-care toolkit. “Massage therapy in many forms (Swedish, Thai, Chinese, Korean) has been a go-to tool in my own self-care kit for many years,” she shares. After becoming attuned to Reiki in 2015, she felt called to deepen her work. “I wanted to obtain education and certification in a physical healing form to complement the energy work, knowing first-hand the many benefits of massage.”

She completed her training at Denver Integrative Massage School, bringing together a wide range of influences that now shape her unique style of bodywork.

Healing Philosophy: Breath, Balance, and the Art of Reconnection through Massage & Reiki

Shaunti believes that “our bodies need constant re-tuning to homeostasis in our current society on the physical, emotional, and energetic levels.”

When clients are on her table, her goal is simple: “Peaceful presence; tension release, both physically and emotionally; a whole-body experience from head to toe, inside and outward.”

Energy work flows seamlessly through her massage sessions. “All of my massage sessions begin with a room clearing and a Reiki blessing, then end with a Reiki blessing, though I do not necessarily vocalize this to the clients. I have found physical massage to be similarly intuitive, as palpating the muscles can feel akin to ‘seeing’ or ‘feeling’ other types of energy.”

Massage Techniques and Specialties – From Reiki to Gua Sha to Hot Stone Massage

Shaunti offers a range of techniques that blend therapeutic and energetic modalities, including:

  • Swedish massage for relaxation and circulation
  • Facial Gua Sha and foot reflexology for targeted tension release
  • Thai sen line work for energetic flow
  • Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stones, Acupressure, Cupping, and Myofascial Release as needed

She’s especially passionate about working with clients dealing with trauma-related issues or those seeking energetic healing through Reiki.

Why Healing Starts with Presence

At the heart of Shaunti’s work is compassion and presence. “Being a facilitator for healing, which all starts with the self and self-care; I try to remind each client of this. If a client leaves feeling even just a little bit more relieved from physical or emotional pain, this is a successful session.”

She recalls one particularly powerful experience: “I once facilitated remote Reiki to a patient in a hospital in Perth, Australia, who I’d never met. We were able to connect, and she shared that a bright light entered the room during the session, leaving her feeling peaceful by the end of it, despite dealing with a brain tumor. This was extremely gratifying!”

Beyond the Massage Table: Finding Balance in Everyday Life

When she’s not working with clients, Shaunti enjoys tending to her plants (indoors during the Colorado winters), walking her American Bulldog Khaleesi, and listening to Blues music. Her own self-care includes receiving massages and Reiki, gratitude journaling, and practicing Shoshin – the Zen principle of maintaining a beginner’s mind and always learning something new.

What Drew Her to CNMA

Shaunti’s personal healing journey gives her deep empathy for the patients she now serves. “After being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, I went to countless doctors for more than a year and finally found natural/holistic medicine including acupuncture, herbs, and homeopathics, which ultimately helped put those syndromes into remission.”

Her path led her directly to CNMA. “Recently I was referred to CNMA for pain due to an injury and Dr. Graves performed acupuncture with cupping that provided immediate relief not only to my hand but put my entire body in a relaxed state.”

Joining the team, she says, “feels like coming full circle.”

“I see my work as another tool clients can use along with the acupuncture treatments, natural supplements, and art therapy currently offered. I am so excited and grateful to be joining CNMA – I already feel supported by the staff in my unique offerings.”
