CBD During Summer

Feeling a bit stressed with kids at home?

Are shorter nights leading to less sleep?

Aches and pains popping up from outdoor activities?

We’re in the midst of summer and that means some self-care may be needed right about now!

Fortunately, CBD can offer a wide range of benefits this time of year.  It can calm everything from stress to inflammation and having it handy in your medicine cabinet can be key.

Here are 5 ways it can help support health over the summer:

1. Sunburn.

Topical CBD cream, balm, or oil can reduce pain and help repair sun damaged skin.  Gently apply to mild sunburn for relief.

2. Sleep.

Less darkness can mean less sleep, which isn’t good for many of us in this high-stress society.

Try rubbing balm on your shoulders before bed, opt for a small piece of an edible, or take a tincture or oil capsule before bedtime.

Note that certain brands have specific CBD sleep products.

3. Stress.

Off schedules, late night get togethers, kids home from school…it can all lead to stress (even if it’s fun!).

Taking CBD at the beginning of the day or before an event that revs up adrenaline can help keep cortisol in check supporting mood, energy, and sleep.

It can also be used anytime throughout the day to calm the body and mind for more immediate relief when needed.

4. Inflammation.

Stress, poor diet, low movement, and little sleep can create unwanted inflammation which CBD can help reduce.

Balms, creams, tinctures, and capsules can be taken daily to reduce inflammation – talk to Dr. Graves or your medical professional about how much and how often as it will differ from person to person.

5. Aches and pains.

Sore from yard work or feel like jello from a hike?  Aches and pains are common in summer!

Help repair muscles and nerve tissue with CBD.  Rub directly on the area of pain or take a capsule or tincture for systemic support.
