Is it time for change in your life?
As scary as it can be, it can be worth it. And we are here to help you every step of the way.
For many, the journey to happiness isn’t smooth sailing. For those who have suffered, have been challenged, or had to make tough choices, you may know the value of peace after change happens.
But change can be hard. It can involve acknowledging that something isn’t working; that you need to step outside of your comfort zone; that things you count on now won’t necessarily be there after.
But whether it is with your lifestyle, your diet, a relationship, your job, etc., change can bring about greater appreciation, significant joy, and more wisdom.
If you’re going through change and are finding it hard, keep these 5 things in mind as you dig deep to honor your authentic self:
- Be Kind and Loving to Yourself.
Is your change happening because it’s time to be kind and loving to yourself?
If so, make sure to do just that throughout your transition. You can do this by:
– feeling your feelings. Do not be embarrassed or ashamed of your feelings. They matter. Sit with them and give them space.
– setting limits and boundaries (on people, food, alcohol, obligations, etc.).
– resting and regrouping/saying “no” to non-mandatory events or activities.
– nourishing your body and soul with healthy, nutrient-dense food.
– moving everyday – gently if need be.
– surrounding yourself with those you love and feel safe with.
- Calm Change with Acupuncture.
If you feel weary, scared, and/or frustrated with the change you are dealing with, turning to acupuncture may make the uncomfortable more bearable.
Acupuncture can be a significant source of peace, calm, and clarity when going through change. By balancing qi (energy) and calming the nervous system, acupuncture can provide both the physical and mental space to see things clearly and with confidence.
- Support Change with Supplements.
Change can bring on stress. And stress can wreak havoc on our bodies and minds. Taking care of stress is crucial when it comes to dealing with change in a healthy way.
One way to manage stress is with naturopathic supplements designed to support the body and mind. We find that supplements such as:
– Integrative Therapeutics® Lavela WS 1265™
– Adrenal Response® by Innate Formulas
– NeuroCalm™ by Designs for Health®
– AdrenoMend™ by Douglas Laboratories®
– Sleep Easy® by Mountain Peak Nutritionals
and CBD oil do well supporting the adrenal glands, neurotransmitters, and/or nervous system during times of stress.
- Talk About Your Change with Someone.
Change isn’t always easy to talk about. It can actually feel quite lonely when you are going through it and sometimes, it just doesn’t feel comfortable to discuss your change even with those you are closest to.
But remember…everyone experiences it.
Try to share what you are feeling and what you are working towards with someone. If you don’t feel safe expressing your feelings with those whom you love, make an appointment with a holistic counselor (click here to learn about ours at CNMA) so you can talk freely in a non-judgmental and loving environment.
- Make Space for Change.
The thought of change alone can be overwhelming, but when we already have too much in our lives, it can seem impossible.
To open yourself to change, it can be vital to make room for it.
For some of us, this may mean having to slow our schedules and make time to think, meditate, read, write, or talk with others.
For others, it may mean ridding your home of unused items that are taking up physical space and therefore, mental space as well – we’re looking at you, extra shelf of random coffee mugs that are never used!
And it can even mean needing to eat a more simple, whole food diet to minimize the toxins consumed.
There are many books on this topic such as The Joy of Less: A Minimalist Guide to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify by Francine Jay that can be helpful in making physical space for change.
