Stressed, Exhausted, Tired and ……

adrenal fatigue, kalish

Many of my patients come to me because they have fatigue. They have gone to their primary care doctor and he/she has checked their blood work which comes back normal. Their doctor tells them they are healthy or its all in their head. The good news is that this is rarely the case.

Fatigue, malaise, exhaustion, the inability to tolerate stress, and many other issues benefit greatly from a functional and naturopathic medicine approach.

Finding the root cause to fatigue is the first step in getting better. Fatigue can come with a whole list of other issues; anxiety, depression, moodiness, trouble sleeping, brain fog, trouble focusing, hormonal imbalances, and the list goes on.  So where does this all begin?

Fatigue can come from a variety of causes; adrenals, anemia, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid issues, neurotransmitter issues, etc. Scheduling an appointment with Dr. Graves to get a better understanding of how the fatigue is presenting in you individually is the first step.

Once Dr. Graves takes your case, we can then narrow down where we think the root cause is coming from by using functional medicine. Some of the functional medicine tests used are adrenal hormone testing, thyroid  (complete profile, ie: TSH, freet3, freet4, etc), anemia (ferritin and others), food sensitivity testing, sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone), neurotransmitter testing and many others.

Once we chose the specific labs and get the results than the underlying cause of fatigue can be addressed. Specific natural treatments can including acupuncture, adrenal support (rhodiola, ashwaganda, pantothenic acid, pregnenolone, etc), thryoid support (selenium, guggul, tyrosine, etc), hormonal support (dhea, progesterone, vitex, etc) and many others.

So if you feel like you are struggling with any of these issues and are ready to take the next step, give us a call and schedule a free 15 minute phone consult or first office visit with Dr. Graves today!
