Do you suffer from fatigue, exhaustion, trouble focusing, nervousness and sleep disturbances? You may have adrenal fatigue? In today's culture I treat patients with adrenal issues on a daily basis. Many of my patients go to their family doctor with the above issues and have labs done that come back "normal" or the doctor wants to prescribe antidepressants or sleep medication. Fortunately there are better and safer options to help you regain your health and vitality. In the following article we will discuss some signs and symptoms of adrenal fatigue, how to diagnosis and what to expect from treatment.

Adrenal fatigue, sometimes called adrenal exhaustion or adrenal burnout, can affect almost anyone, but I usually see it in patients from their mid 30's and beyond. It more commonly affects women starting around age 35 when hormones start to slowly change.  Some of the symptoms are fatigue, inability to tolerate stress, exhaustion, nervousness, sleep issues (trouble falling or staying asleep), weight issues, irritability, trouble concentrating, lack of motivation, low libido, intolerance to cold and many others.

Fortunately, even though mainstream doctors are not trained to recognize and treat adrenal fatigue, it can be diagnosed and treated safely and effectively. The best lab test to check the function of the adrenal glands is a saliva test. Four saliva tests in one day give us a good pick of your adrenal gland function over a 12 hour period. Since the key to adrenal health is that it is supposed to be high in the mornings and low at night, getting a full day’s picture is the most accurate way to diagnose this type of adrenal dysfunction. Once the labs are reviewed a treatment plan consisting of herbal and nutrient interventions are made. The length of treatment is usually 3 to 6 months with the majority of patients feeling better within the first 4 weeks. So in summary, if you have any of these symptoms and aren't finding the help you need, give us a call  at 303-688-6698 or click HERE to schedule an appointment and start getting your life back!
